The Ermesinde Social Center, a Private Social Solidarity Institution with more than half a century of existence and intervention in the social sector, intends to REPAIR - REUSE - USE a van, transforming it into a resource capable of meeting the needs of the local community, partners, volunteers and their users. Thus, and valuing the principles of circular economy and sustainable development, the idea-project aCarrinhaR - A social Campervan, was born. The focus of the intervention is to bring a new life, image and movement to an end-of-line van - [Re] draw - making it an efficient and effective resource. Following the intervention, campervan can be used by young volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps under the MOVE Project [Move yourself | Organize yourself | Become a Volunteer | Express yourself] for trips exploring our traditions and culture and promoting exchanges between young volunteers, valuing mobility, sharing and knowledge. In the future, and taking into account the principles of sustainability, this challenge will enable low-cost equipment rental to the local community (population and other social, public and private sector entities).

About the author
The Ermesinde Social Center (CSE) is an independent, apolitical and non-profit Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS), with over half a century of existence. Its main activity is to improve living conditions and enable equality of life. opportunities of the local population, seeking differentiated solutions that are adaptable to the characteristics of the community's problems. CSE currently employs 123 workers and integrates the following responses and services: Nursery; Family Day Care (nanny); Kindergarten; Free Time Activity Center (ATL); Nursing Home; Home Support Service (SAD); Professional Insertion Office (GIP); Center for Vocational Training and Employment; Second Chance School. She also owns a local newspaper “A Voz de Ermesinde”, published every two weeks, which gives visibility to the activities of the community and the institution itself. This institution is one of the largest private employers in the county and has a strong roots in the region. As an entity with responsibility for local social development, it has progressively expanded its network of partnerships within the solidarity sector itself.
The action history of the Ermesinde Social Center demonstrates a permanent concern and extensive work in the youth area. We have worked for over two decades in this area with national and international projects: training, mentoring, support for associations, international and national youth mobility projects and European Voluntary Service.
