Will are introducing a technology-based solution which will make our cities and its public places even more attractive and will make your every footstep interesting as well as impactful.

E-Touch Business Idea

We want to make cities more attractive and smart by introducing an eco-friendly technology.  This would make people's walk more interesting and streets more stylish.  Our idea is to utilize the energy that we could not make use of while we walk. Our plan is to introduce a smart-tech plate that could transform the mechanical energy that is produced through our walk into electrical energy. This energy is then could be utilized as per the applications. Every single move would be useful if we get success with our idea and vision.

The idea that we have been working on is an alternative energy source. Generating electricity using pressure sensors (piezoelectric sensor). While walking, when we press the floor, some amount of energy transfer occurs. The amount of energy is directly proportional to the number of footsteps. There comes the business model, consider the highly crowded places or places where there is public presence very frequent.

The piezoelectric sensor is capable of converting the mechanical energy into electrical energy. This energy can be harvested and stored in batteries. The sensor can be placed in a group of 10-12 on a plate. The plates can be placed in places like the subway entrances where many people come and go frequently. The energy produced from the footsteps of the people, can be stored and can be used as an alternative source of energy or can even be used to design the metro with a different style of lights which will depend on the footsteps. In the latter case, imagine the attraction of Lisbon metro station which will flash stylish light as per the movement of the people.

Another application is Personal choice-based design. It is planned to put a big screen in those areas, e.g. Praca de Commercio. In this case, a tourist will be able to select the kind of design he/she wants to see on the big screen. Then they have to jump or do some kind of activity so that they could generate the amount of energy needed to visualize the design on the screen. For example, a couple wants to see a shape of the heart on the screen and the amount of energy needs to make a shape of a heart is 30 Watt. In that case, they can jump together or make some funky moves to get that energy and see the design on the screen. This could be something very own tourist attraction of Lisbon.

On the other hand, the plates could be highly useful for the purpose of advertisement and for that the leasing /renting facility has been highlighted as well. For instance, the plates would allow the advertising company to promote their clients in a very creative way. There we will be the service provider. Another example of this is, by leasing/renting (depending on the client) we will be able to gain more revenue during a concert and football matches where it could be used as an interactive way of showing people’s expression. Hereafter, for the same kind of events, the firecrackers can be replaced by the emotion-based (cheering after a goal) lighting shows.

The same designing model can be implemented in parks, roads, railway, and metro-stations in places like different cities of India where the population is very dense and public movement is also very frequent, but with the slightly different way of application. Most important point for implementing this idea in India is the competition between different state Govt. to make their state beautiful and attractive than others and the central Govt.’s support for the Start-Ups.

The core advantage of this technology is, it uses ambient energy that is being wasted unknowingly with every single move. With the enhancement in the efficiency of the sensor, the area of application will be widening in near future.

Budget and due dates

The primary goal is to do a test as a pilot project at different metro stations of Lisbon and therefore, our target is to collect  1000  to do the pilot project. After successful completion of the testing phase, we would like to invite people for their further support and bigger investment to bring the idea to the market. 

One of the main goals of the test phase is to develop an efficient and well-engineered design of our device and for that purpose, two summer internship opportunity has been created with two stipends of € 200 each. The complete budget is given below, 

PPL Fee + VAT -->  € 61.50 

Payment Fee + VAT -->  € 30.75

Internships --> € 400 (2)

Return Gifts (Rewards) --> € 100

Equipments --> € 250.

Testing --> € 150.

Total --> € 992.25
