A weedeater for the coop

We need a mower! We want to make the farm a beautiful and pleasant space where families can come and picnic where children can play, where it is easier to plant and harvest.

We started with a scythe. You dont know what it is? It's a big sickle with a long handle. It is heavy and hard to use. Since we are an ecological cooperative we do not use herbicides. We clean by hand. We realized that we needed a brushcutter. Because we never have much money in the Cooperative, we got a second hand that soon broke down. Fixing it was more expensive than it's value, and as it was weak it served us little.

We decided we needed a mower!

One that will help Dantas clean the farm, keep it beautiful for you, open up land to plant your lettuces and your cabbages ...

About the author

Quinta dos 7 Nomes is an ecological farm in Colares. It is also a cooperative, not only for organic products, but above all it is a social space for the local community.

It was founded in 2007. It is a small farm with about 0.75 ha.

Its most of all aaPermaculture laboratory. A space where we can make experiences. Where members can have a field from which to withdraw their bio products, giving only a few hours of work per week.

It is also a training space for sustainability. We want to help create a more resilient and sustainable community.

This is why we're here.

Budget and due dates

We need at least € 540 by the end of September. This will allow us to buy a low-end Huskvarna. Ideally we manage to raise € 1100 and we're able to buy a good weedeater!
