The FoodHub Lisbon is a place for Food entrepreneurs, influencers, NGOs, governmental & intergovernmental agencies and corporates to gather under one roof. We find, help, incubate and accelerate the latest innovations in FoodTech.
Executive Summary
Portugal is a country where food is an integral part of the culture and every day interactions. Anywhere you go you will find streets lined with restaurants, food trucks, food stands and even vendors on the beach selling pastries. Food is all around us, yet these entrepreneurs have to struggle to get their businesses started. The FoodTech Ecosystem is scattered in Portugal.
FoodTech is any innovation which happens in the post-harvest stage, including food processing, packaging, supply chain, delivery services, composting and much more. We have a lot of innovation happening in Portugal within FoodTech, however there is no central point or dedicated help for these entrepreneurs. The FoodHub gathers all these StartUps, Freelancers and NGOs under one roof creating a collaborative and supportive community. We connect them to relevant industry players and run incubation as well as acceleration programs to provide them with the relevant mentoring which they need.
Services
- Co-working
The FoodHub will provide a co-working space to house freelancers and entrepreneurs building their projects. The co-working space will be the location for our incubation and acceleration programs. Our model will be based on a monthly membership subscription fee with varying offers.
2-days / week, 5 days / week, Weekend Access, Fixed Desk, Team Space
- Incubation
Our Incubation program will run for 6-12 months with a monthly fee. Services included are, mentoring, networking events, workshops, pitch days, demo days, investor meetings.
- Acceleration
We will run varying acceleration programs with choice partners.
Program topics will include; Health & Nutrition, sustainable production, sustainable packaging, innovation in supply chain and waste solutions.
- Consulting
Corporates, NGOs, StartUps and Governmental entities can contact the FoodHub for consulting within renewable energy solutions, waste solutions, sustainability issues, social responsibility and to find innovative FoodTech solutions to their problems.
- Mentoring
For the subscribed members of the FoodHub we will provide access to relevant mentors within the food industry. Depending on their level of membership they gain access to a certain amount of mentoring hours per week.
We also provide paid mentoring services for entrepreneurs outside of the membership.
- Office Rental
The FoodHub aims to foster collaboration, we will have a separate floor with fixed offices for profitable social enterprises to enable them to collaborate more easily. The enterprises are selected on the value they are able to contribute to the ecosystem as well as ensuring that they get an equal amount of value out of it.
We will be piloting a space with ImpactHub after which we will be starting our above mentioned activities.
