We're a group of young individuals, our ages going from 13 to 22 years old, in love with the television's world. Every year we produce solidary televisive events, the gathered money is donated in its totality to a social solidarity institution.
Everything started 3 years ago. The solidarity spirit has been with us from the very first day. 13 young individuals, with ages between 13 and 22 years old decided to gather together in their city, Moura, and produce a televisive event in which all the money gathered has its destiny to be donated to solidarity institutions such as APPACDM located in Moura. And just like that "A Gala de Moura" was born.
At the end of 3 years of solidarity events we have donated more than 7.500€ to three different solidarity social institutions: APPACDM Moura, Bombeiros Voluntários de Moura (Moura's Volunteer Firefighters) and Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro (Portuguese League Against Cancer).
Music, dance, humor, videos, entertainment and giving merit and excellence awards to Portuguese personalities, are the annual event's content that has a televisive transmission made entirely by us. The money we receive from commercials and the tickets' selling is the only incoming money we get and it's the one with the destiny to be donated to the institutions we support.
However, a big problem comes up: all the equipment we use from the very beginning is from the 90's. Every single one of us brings an old television, currently not in use. Some others bring old cameras. And for that matter we have decided to ask for your help! Our dream is to equip our school (which is where we work during the whole year), with modern televisive equipment. The fact that we can't use any money from the one we get doesn't allow us to get better technological devices making our transmission to go on air with a visual quality that is way inferior comparing to the one we see nowadays in national and international television.
If our request gets a positive answer, the next editions of "Gala de Moura", as well as every other events produced by us, will have a huge quality increasement which will definitely open us doors and teach our colleagues how television is made nowadays. The success of this request will also give us the certain we can take the initiatives and just like that, donate even more money to other solidarity institutions in a national level.
