X SERENATAS AO BERÇO - FESTIVAL OF FEMININE TUNAS

As in previous years, Tun'Obebes - Tuna Feminina de Engenharia da Universidade do Minho embarks on the adventure of organizing a musical festival "Serenatas ao Berço” gathering four “tunas" (tradicional portuguese musical group) spread all over Portugal. This edition will take place in Guimarães and is going to be held on 15th and 16th April 2016.

As in previous years, Tun'Obebes - Tuna Feminina de Engenharia da Universidade do Minho embarks on the adventure of organizing a musical festival "Serenatas ao Berço” gathering four “tunas" (tradicional portuguese musical group) spread all over Portugal. This edition will take place in Guimarães and is going to be held on 15th and 16th April 2016. 

On April 15th at the Largo da Oliveira (historic center of the city) will be guested a night of Serenades and on April 16th at São Mamede CAE will be hosted the main show - both events start at 21:30. The Serenatas ao Berço has been growing over the years and in this edition, Tun'Obebes promises to innovate with not only one (as it usually is) but with two days of great entertainment.

 In addition to the serenades’ night and the show itself, during the afternoon of April 16th (Saturday) the various musical groups hang out in the historical city center accomplishing some activities requested by the organizing comittee.

We promise to fill up the São Mamede CAE theatre with the sounds and rhythms from the Arabian World (theme of the music festival) as well as the entire city of Guimarães!

About the author

With the authorization of Afonso Henriques, 1st King of Portugal, Tun'Obebes is founded on 11th December of 1992 - the first female tuna of Universidade do Minho, celebrating this year its 24th anniversary.

This group of college girls, future engineers, doctors and even architects, for many years continue to revolutionize Guimarães.

Budget and due dates

An Event of this magnitude, that represents a possibility of cultural enrichment for the city of Guimarães (and more), implies great costs. It’s worth to mention that Tun'Obebes handles all of the expenses related with food and accommodation of the tunas that are invited, as well as all of the expenses that come with the festival itself. In total the final price of festival comes close to 6000€.

The ticket to attend the festival will cost 3,5€ for students.
