This is another project from Covilhã Theatre Workshop. Another year, another challenge!
This time we propose to bring up to stage the play "A Man is a Man" by Bertolt Brecht, with the opening date in May.
That crazy? Yes, it´s true…
We are going to transform the Municipal Theatre of Covilhã into a market or into ruins, we will rip off the interpreters identity and make of them an army and ... it's better not to mention more ...
Pedro da Silva is responsible for conducting and staging this project but the group will pursue the arduous task that is the interpretation. The group is formed by people of Covilhã community, amateurs (and with great pleasure!).
Through the community involvement , we intend to raise awareness for the artistic world and ironically incite social awareness.

Covilhã Theatre Workshop is a pedagogical project dedicated to the practice of artistic activities, mainly engaged to the theatrical activity.
Four crazy actors, tired of always hearing the same old stories and seeing empty theatres…
They felt the need to develop new artistic approaches and to recapture relations with the public.
This project borns from the necessity of a greater interaction between the artistic world and the public and the urgency of seeking new aesthetic approaches.
To meet these objectives, these four crazy actors decided to form a theatrical research laboratory with the community that was named Theatre Workshop. In the first year, another 14 crazy people joined the Theatre Workshop and over a year discovered several theatrical tools that culminated in the presentation of the first theatrical performance: "The Blood Wedding" by Garcia Lorca.
Evolution:
In the second year, after a similar process, but with an increasing number of insane people, the Theatre Workshop presented "The Old Lady" and in the third year the dose of insanaty increase even nore, it was presented "Ok", "Six Characters in Search of an Author" by Pirandello and "Expulsion Order" a street theater collective creation exercise.
Present:
Yeah ... we are in our fourth year of existence and we enhanced training. In addition to the Theatre Workshop, it has been operating since the beginning of September the Dramatic Writing and Movement Workshops and our family is larger than ever.
