In the 24-hour P endurance race, Ricardo Lento and Miles & Vibes team will run for 24 hours for a cause: raising donations for Pfuka U Famba, the GASPORTO center that feeds and cares for malnourished babies in Macia, Mozambique.
Some run for a medal. Some run for a cause.
On September 5th and 6th, in Santa Maria da Feira, the 24H de P will take place, an endurance race that challenges athletes to run for 24 consecutive hours. This year, Ricardo Lento, a trail and ultra-trail athlete and member of the Miles & Vibes team, along with the other members of the run club , will transform each kilometer into a gesture of solidarity, running to raise awareness and mobilize support for a cause that needs us: Pfuka U Famba, in Mozambique.
Pfuka U Famba, which in Changana means "get up and walk," is the Nutritional Rehabilitation Center that GASPORTO runs in the village of Macia. The center supports 30 babies aged 0 to 3 years who are malnourished and provides them with what they need to grow: powdered milk, fortified porridges and soups, hygiene, and activities that stimulate the body and mind. Support continues until each baby recovers, and we walk side-by-side with the caregivers to ensure lasting change.
And it's not just words. Since 2010, 769 babies have been rescued from malnutrition, 65 of them in 2025 alone. An external evaluation also confirmed significant improvements in the health and interaction skills of the babies, as well as in the abilities of those who care for them. It's a place where many babies stand up, walk, and fly. Some stories are better told through images. Meet Sofia and you'll understand why we never give up on any baby.
This is the center that this race aims to help keep running. Your donation, however small, means one more day that a baby eats, grows, and smiles.
"My children entered Pfuka U Famba when they were almost a month old. They weighed only 900g and 700g. At the hospital they called them 'little mice', a word that hurt my heart, because I myself was malnourished and full of fear.
At Pfuka U Famba I learned to eat better, to care for my children, and to help them grow up healthy. Today, when I look at them, strong and alive, I know I've learned to spell a new word: miracles. My children's lives are, thanks to Pfuka U Famba, a miracle."
Mother of N. and L.
You too can be a part of these miracles. Make a donation to this campaign and help Pfuka U Famba continue writing stories like that of this mother's children. And if you want to be sure your contribution reaches the center even if we don't reach our goal, choose the option of unconditional support when donating. That way, no gesture is lost along the way.
We're in this together, one baby at a time.
