Hello everyone! My name is Verónica and I'm here to introduce you to the Motty Project. We firmly believe that art and craftsmanship are perfect bridges to create deep bonds between people and generations. It is with great joy that we announce that the Motty Project will be present at the Community Center - School of Arts in Outil, transforming this space into a vibrant meeting point, promoting social inclusion and community sharing for the entire municipality of Cantanhede.

What are we going to do together?

We want to open the doors of our workshops through pottery sessions open to the entire community, where the most important thing is the space for us to be together. The Motty Project was designed to be a place for sharing knowledge and experiences, where children and young people learn from the wisdom of their elders, seniors combat social isolation by sharing their memories, and adults find a moment of pause and conviviality in their daily routine. Here, no one teaches more than they learn. It is a space for mutual exchange through contact with the earth.

Why do we need your financial support today?

For this sharing with ceramics to happen from beginning to end, the pieces created by the hands of our people need to be fired at high temperatures (over 1000°C). Without this firing, the clay does not become permanent and crumbles again.

This is where our biggest obstacle lies, and the reason we need your help: we need to acquire a ceramic muffle furnace (a specific industrial kiln) that will belong exclusively to the Motty Project. This equipment will be the technical heart of the project and will guarantee our complete logistical autonomy, accompanying us wherever the initiative goes in the future. The cost of a ceramic kiln with the necessary safety features is beyond our current budget.

The Call to Action: How can you help?

To bring this space of affection to life in Cantanhede, we cannot move forward alone. By clicking the support button and contributing to this campaign, you are not just buying an oven. You are funding intergenerational workshops, combating loneliness among our seniors, and investing in the well-being of the community.

Choose one of the rewards on the side! We've prepared lovely gifts as a thank you: from public acknowledgments on our social media to spots in individual workshops, private celebrations (birthdays/bachelor/bachelorette parties), or corporate team-building events valid until the end of 2027. If you live far away or abroad, you can even choose to donate your reward to a regular workshop participant or a local institution.

Please support us today and share this link with your family, friends, and neighbors. Every contribution counts towards getting the oven lit! Thank you so much for being part of Project Motty!

About the author

Hello! My name is Veronica and I am the soul and hands behind Project Motty.
Ceramics is not just my job; it's the way I've chosen to communicate with the world and touch people's lives through the earth, creativity, and affection.

To understand who I am, you have to travel back to my childhood. When we were little, my cousin couldn't pronounce 'Verónica', so he reinvented my name and started calling me 'Moti'. That name grew with me, imbued with immense affection and esteem, representing the unique bond that has always united us. Years later, I decided to adopt it with a special spelling — Motty — as my artistic name, the mark I proudly use to sign each of my ceramic pieces.

My connection to crafts stemmed from this need to create with affection, but I quickly realized that the true power of ceramics lies in the human transformation that happens around the work table. Throughout my journey, I have specialized in ceramics, accumulating the practical experience and technical knowledge necessary to master the entire process: from clay preparation to glaze application and, of course, the complex management of high-temperature firings. Handling a ceramic muffle furnace (an industrial kiln exceeding 1000°C) demands rigor, patience, and technical responsibility. I feel fully prepared to take on this challenge with maximum safety and efficiency.

Today, my main goal is to share this knowledge and passion. That's why the Motty Project will be based at the Community Center - School of Arts in Outil. I chose to share my artistic name and establish the project in this space because I want to put it at the service of the entire municipality of Cantanhede, creating an inclusive, safe and welcoming place where adults, young people, children and the elderly feel at home to exchange experiences through clay.

I don't see this project as an individual journey, but rather as a collective endeavor. I am fully dedicated to making the Motty Project a landmark of cultural and human sharing in our region. To achieve this, I count on your trust and support to take this important technical step together. Thank you so much for believing in me and in this journey!

Budget and due dates

I need €4,998.82 by mid-August; I've attached a copy of the budget in the files.

The project is scheduled to be arranged in September and requires the installation of a muffle furnace on site.
