The Association for Cooperation Between Peoples will soon have a new headquarters and needs your support to renovate and adapt the space.

In the work that the Association for Cooperation Among Peoples (ACEP) develops in Portugal, we feel the need to have a space with more open doors for society. In 2020, we began a negotiation process with the Lisbon City Council to obtain a new space on Rua de São Bento, close to the Parliament, in Lisbon, which was recently allocated to us.

The new location will allow for an exhibition space, with public access to photography exhibitions and other expressions, as well as the quality editions that ACEP has been producing since the beginning of this century. Furthermore, the space will also make it possible to host small public events, which may include the launch of books, the Mundo Crítica magazine and various debates.

With this new type of space and location in the city, we intend to be closer to various sectors of society that are important for our work - the deputies of the Assembly of the Republic, with whom we seek to value and influence development cooperation policy; the promoters of cultural initiatives that connect the city of Lisbon with countries of origin of many migrants, especially those of African origin; and the academic community, with which ACEP has been developing fruitful collaboration on various initiatives.

The space spread over around 100 m2 needs restoration work and adaptation to new purposes. And it needs essential materials and equipment for interaction activities with our audiences and collaborators from different creative areas, from photography to video or various other forms of communication for development.

We appeal for your financial contribution towards the renovation and adaptation of the facilities. The support of everyone is very important so that ACEP can become an organization with open doors from October 2024.
