July 20th and 21st at Largo da Paz in Ajuda, the Mexican festival returns with music, crafts, dance, gastronomy and workshops. Participate!

The second edition of Arraial do México will take place on the 20th and 21st of July, at Largo da Paz, in Ajuda.

After the success of the first Mexican festival of 2022, Ajuda will once again host a party full of music, crafts, dance, workshops and, of course, a wide variety of food!

More than 1500 people had the opportunity to participate in the first edition, which featured various activities, such as:

• piñata workshop
• Traditional Mexican games, such as "La lotería"
• Traditional tales session
• Cooking workshop
• Folk dances with the Alebrije Group
• Dance floor with Ritmos Cholulteca
• Live mexican music
• Sale of Mexican crafts
• And of course, the possibility of traveling to Mexico through its varied cuisine!

This year, Ajuda Parish Council is once again hosting this unmissable festival. It will be two days full of joy, flavors and unique experiences.

To be able to offer the best experience, the organization of this event needs your support! This is a free event organized entirely by volunteers. It has the invaluable support of the Parish Council for the space and basic services but, in order to offer a rich and authentic experience, it is necessary to pay the artists and service providers.

About the author

The organization is in charge of Adriana Núñez Domínguez, from the dance group Alebrijes, Martha Tomé - Cozinha Mexicana and "Red Global MX - Chapter Portugal".

Adriana is the artistic director and main promoter of the Alebrije group, the first Mexican folk dance group in Portugal. The objective is to promote Mexican culture, through music and dances. It was founded in March 2015 by a group of Mexicans living in Portugal.

Alebrijes

Martha is a recognized Mexican personality in Lisbon, famous for her delicious food and for being a pioneer in the marketing of Mexican products in Portugal. There is no Mexican who does not know her and who has not been influenced in some way by her charismatic personality, even if only by her unshakable desire to join the Mexican community.

"Red Global MX" is a network of Mexican talents, residing all over the world, whose objective is to develop projects linking the country where they reside with Mexico. The " Portugal Chapter " has more than 30 members, all volunteers, who seek to promote initiatives in the areas of science and technology, entrepreneurship and innovation, social solidarity, culture and art.

Budget and due dates

• It is necessary to pay the artists, dancers, DJs, musicians and entertainers who create the magic of this event.
• It is also necessary to hire some services such as sound technicians and other providers.

The estimated total amount is 4 thousand euros, including the commission charged by the platform.
