We are looking for music lovers to release our 1st EP and a music video. After the first single was released, we were eager to share more songs written by us. We are counting on you!
More than two people bonded by marriage, we've also been bonded by music since we have met. Canções do Sofá is the expression of our ideals and ideas about life. In this shared life, conversations arose about what we believe in, and although we come from different backgrounds and cultures, many values have brought us together and strengthened us.
We believe in the possibility of asserting ourselves as unique people without making us individualistic, where our values intersect and cement our compositions. Topics such as society, education, physical and mental health, the environment, human values and love emerge in sofa conversations, transforming into loose writings, small notes and sounds that converge. These are the conversations we want to share with the world, which we believe are bigger than us, our family, friends or our city.
This campaign arises because we want something more! Shortly after releasing our 1st music video and single, recording an EP in a studio became achievable, but it required investment. In April, we started the first work with Brightstudios, which has played a key role in the development of our songs. We already have 3 songs finished, but there are still 2 more to go that we want to finish by the end of September. Our savings for the project now cover a large portion of the total launch costs. However, to finish our EP and release the second music video we still need funds to help with the remaining expenses. This work will mirror what we are and will be a launching pad for the project.

We are Cristina Pereira Ratanji and Paulo Pereira Ratanji and here is a bit of our history...
It was 2014 and we were students at different faculties of the University of Porto, involved in the world of academic music groups. Our lives intersected in the midst of the songs we sang and played and these were responsible for this connection we created and, later, for our marriage. During all these years, we have been involved in musical projects, but the most important thing in our lives happened in England, where we met other musicians and created a folk music/world music project, which has the current name of Rosmanim and to which we joined we spend a lot of time. In the UK the band released an EP of originals and we played in many places, but returning to Portugal was the main goal of the family and also of the band members. Right now, we're in our country and happy to be around 'music' and showing our work. We have had a lot of shows and we are a very united group with the desire to continue together.
Canções do Sofá was born out of our desire to add even more music to our lives. More than two people bonded by marriage, we've also been bonded by music since we met. Canções do Sofá is the expression of our ideals and ideas about life. In this shared life, conversations emerged about what we believe in and, although we have different backgrounds and cultures, many values united and strengthened us. Some songs were picked up from the bottom of the trunk and others we wrote more recently, already having a pretty good amount for an EP.
We find in music a form of freedom, putting written words to music, which is like giving them wings. In this work that we have been preparing since April, music joins words to give them intensity, more meaning and emotion.
Budget and due dates
Our savings for the project currently cover a large part of the total launch costs. However, to finish our EP we still need funds to help with the remaining expenses. This value is approximately 850 euros.
In this sense, we ask for your collaboration to cover the following expenses:

250€ - Videoclip
€86.72 - PPL Commission
We intend to release the EP in 2023. In September we will continue in the studio and start recording the music video.
