The Pulo do Lobo Ethnobotanical Festival takes place in a small village in the Lower Alentejo region. The main objective of the event is to promote and disseminate the natural and cultural heritage! Help us bring more culture to the festival!

The Pulo do Lobo Ethnobotanical Festival will take place on May 8th, 9th and 10th, 2026, in Amendoeira da Serra, Mértola. The event is made possible through the collaboration of several local entities and the union of many wills and community effort.

Amendoeira da Serra is a village with about 30 permanent inhabitants, located in the Guadiana Valley Natural Park, 20km from Mértola and 7km from the Pulo do Lobo Waterfall (Guadiana River). Its geographical location and environmental characteristics make this place special not only for its landscape and ecological value but also for its anthropological and, consequently, ethnobotanical value.

The main objective of the event is to revitalize this location through a weekend of lectures, workshops, field trips, a market, gastronomy, and cultural activities, all related to the theme of plants and how humans have used, use, and will use them.

The event features various activities and spaces. Throughout the weekend, it's possible to go hiking, attend workshops, watch artistic performances, concerts and films, sample traditional and contemporary food, and stay overnight in the camping area or in local accommodations available near the village.

It is crucial to keep this event accessible and open, therefore entry to all cultural activities is free. To make this possible, we need your support!
