Campaign in the form of a pre-sale of the Unknown Japanese Masters on DVD. For a price of €40, the supporter will receive the DVD box set, and for €50 they will also receive a gift book.
After the successful conclusion of the pre-sale campaign for Integral Kinuyo Tanaka on DVD last year, we are now back with a new proposal for our catalogue: the edition of a DVD box set with six films from the first three cycles of the Unknown Japanese Masters.

Mestres Japoneses Desconhecidos I, II e III
Regarding the DVD market in Portugal, things have not changed since last year - it continues to decline dramatically. There are currently few physical spaces where DVDs can be sold. In this sense, it is difficult for a small distributor like ours to make the necessary investment to produce DVDs, expecting that same investment to be recovered in a short period of time.

A Mulher que eu Abandonei
In this sense, we are repeating last year's campaign. We are proposing that the campaign raise €4,000, which means 100 people are interested in these Unknown Japanese Masters on DVD. We still believe that if there are not 100 people interested, then producing a box set like this is not worth it.
The campaign is in the form of a pre-sale. For €40, supporters will receive a box containing the six films by post. For €50, they will also receive the book Perseverance, by Serge Daney (see rewards).
The films that make up this Best Of are:
The Nurse's Boy, by Tomotaka Tasaka (1955)
Johnny, Heart of Glass, by Koreyoshi Kurahara (1962)
A Woman's Life, by Yasuzo Masumura (1962)
The Woman I Abandoned, by Kirio Urayama (1969)
The Tragedy of Bushido, by Eitarô Morikawa (1960)
The Gambling Monk, by Shogoro Nishimura (1963)
The format will be digipack, the same as the Integral Kinuyo Tanaka box, and the design will once again be done by Catarina Sampaio, author of the posters that promoted the three cycles in movie theaters and the Tanaka box. This (DVD region 2) will have, in addition to the six films, subtitled in Portuguese, the three trailers of the cycles created by The Stone and the Plot and a presentation video by programmer Miguel Patrício.
