Memory(ies) in search of a place" is an exhibition that portrays the difficult legacy of Portugal's fascist and colonial past, based on work carried out with ten testimonies of the anti-fascist resistance in Porto.

"Memory(ies) in Search of a Place" is an exhibition that portrays the Difficult Legacy (Macdonald, 2009) of Portugal's fascist and colonial past, based on work carried out with testimonies from the anti-fascist resistance in Porto. The project proposes a holistic view between the role of oral testimony and the treatment of the material culture of this collective memory, in which each of the anti-fascist resistance fighters recounts an episode of their struggle against the dictatorship, starting from an object chosen by them. The presentation of this participatory collection assumes a mediating function between their experiences and younger audiences. From the presentation of these memory-objects, the objective is to challenge new intergenerational dialogues that find in a space like the Museum a disobedient workshop of activism in defense of Freedom, Democracy and the rights won with the Revolution of April 25, 1974.

From April 2nd to 4th, at Lino Cultural Space | Rua de Olivença 54

Never before has it been so important to defend what we achieved with the 25th of April. Your support is essential!
