Support Small Portuguese Producers !

Our project started in the current pandemic context, to help small portuguese producers. Support our project and receive fantastic portuguese products in your home!

It was March when the first confinement was announced. The news reported by the media was not encouraging and we knew that we had a difficult period ahead, perhaps the most difficult we have ever faced.

After the confinement, economic activity was weakened and insisted on not recovering, threatening or even dragging to closure many small businesses, which without fairs or other forms of promotion for their products, had no alternative but to close doors .  

It was in this context that Inês Fernandes, a young university student residing in Lisbon, but with family roots in the region of Oliveira do Hospital and Tábua, in Coimbra, decided to reinvent herself, counteract the situation experienced, and help these small producers in the maintenance and dynamization of their businesses , by creating an online store of products from small producers in the region of Beiras and Serra da Estrela.

The store "Made in Serra da Estrela" was launched in late 2020 and features a varied showcase of typical products from Beiras and Serra da Estrela, all from small local producers!

Although recent, we are proud that our project is achieving its founding purpose , having already helped to boost the business of several small producers, especially cheesemakers, who saw us as an incentive to maintain their production!

Now they must be curious and wondering: But what do they need the money for? In fact, we need it to be able to take a crucial step in our project: create a functional website! Our store currently has a very time-consuming free website, not at all intuitive and which does not allow customers to complete their purchases with an online payment... Now at a time when the speed of the purchase process is very important, a website like ours ends as it is an obstacle to making sales in an online store... The creation of a website like the one we want is not a cheap process and it is in this sense that your support is crucial. When we manage to reach our fundraising objective, we will be able to invest in a website as necessary to leverage our project and help in the promotion of small producers,

In reality it is apparently a small step, but it will mean a lot to our project!

About the author

The store "Made in Serra da Estrela - Union of Small Producers" was launched at the end of 2020, so in the midst of a pandemic situation, and presents a varied showcase of regional portuguese products, all from small local producers. From cheeses, sausages, regional cakes and olive oil, here the difficult thing will be to choose among so many delicacies to taste! After the purchase, we guarantee fast delivery to the address you indicate. And do not worry: we ship all over Europe!

We are also distinguished by a solidary mission. So, part of the income obtained reverts to our “Fund for Agricultural and Forestry Conversion” . This fund, created by us and also managed by us, aims to raise money in order to apply it in the future to projects to combat wasteland and encourage agricultural practice, thus helping to remove the eucalyptus patch that proliferates in our forests, as a way of preventing the large forest fires that usually lash the region. As part of this mission, we are proud that we are already planning a forestry planning initiative in Oliveira do Hospital, our home land, in Coimbra!

Budget and due dates

Objective to be reached: 510€ until the 26th of September - The amount is intended to be applied in the creation of a new website for the store with other functionalities and with online payments, which proves to be essential. We currently have a very time-consuming, non-intuitive free website that does not allow customers to complete their purchases with an online payment. Now, at a time when the speed of the purchase process is very important, a website like ours ends up being an obstacle to more sales because we are currently only accepting payments by Bank Transfer, which naturally drives away some customers. As you might guess, creating a new website like the one we intend is not a cheap process. However, we didn't give up and we had already started to raise some money for this purpose, but still insufficient to achieve it.... We count, therefore, on your help to achieve our goal!

Grades:

Upon fulfillment of the campaign objective : Once the fundraising campaign period has ended and it is successful, the rewards in baskets will be sent by a specialized carrier (TNT or FedEx) to the address indicated by the supporters. We ship throughout Europe. Regarding the shipping time, we inform you that after dispatch from us, the orders are delivered within 24 working hours (in Portugal Continental) or within 48h-72 working hours ( all over Europe)

If we achieve more than the initially proposed goal:   In this case, we will be very grateful and assure our supporters that the funds will continue to be well spent. The money will go to our "Agricultural and Forest Conversion Fund" or to launch promotional campaigns related to the project.
