Livros de Ontem publisher is pleased to present you "Subino", a story with text and illustrations by artist Grácio Freitas.

SYNOPSIS: "Subino is a fish born in the center of the Atlantic, whose dream is to run the world. Especially, to walk in the cities among humans, with the sole aim of learning." Children and Adolescents: These are enough to read how, surely, already do, knowing that "dreams are to live well awake". Adults: Adults, before reading this book, should be equipped with lots of imagination, open-mindedness, and dream ability. I advise you to use all the memories of childhood and adolescence, which for some will be a difficult exercise. Fortunately, for most, it will be an enrichment of their already fertile dreams. I leave a tip to everyone. "Dreams are for living well awake."

About the author

Born in the heart of the wine region of the Douro Valley, portuguese author and artist Grácio Freitas has always had a natural talent for manual work and strong inclinations for the technical and visual arts. A career took him to the Armed Forces, more specifically to the Navy, where he specialized in the field of submarines. However, he kept nourished within him this deep desire to be creative and in 1990 this became so intense that he felt compelled to change his work. Painter of color and light, Grácio Freitas works in acrylic, drawing according to his own codes and artistic references. Although very figurative, it is in color that it seems to be the focus of his paintings, his use of color and the resultant sweating of paint surpasses the subject described. The light that emanates from his paintings also highlights the incredible range of colors he applies generously, but always with a subtle and delicate touch. Constantly pursuing his perfection, Grácio Freitas is continually developing and refining his style, to demonstrate how he has moved as an artist since he began painting. This retrospective approach gives you the incentive to continue with your experimentation and to continue your work, unshakable in the hope that one day it will reach the pinnacle of your art. From time to time, in his work of illustration, the artist provides through both his drawings and his paintings a vision of a subjective reality full of peace and goodwill. Now, and because he is in his temper, he ventures into writing.
