This short portrays the mind of an elderly man with Alzheimers. It takes place in a house, where two men coexist without meeting each other. As the two realities intertwine, we're taken on a journey that explores themes such as memory, identity and loss.
The aim of this fundraising campaign is to create an independent project that characterizes us as Audiovisual and Multimedia artists and at the same time, raise awareness among viewers regarding the topic of Alzheimer's. As soon as we came together to develop this academic work, we realized that the topic of memory was something very significant for everyone involved. Therefore, we not only want to be proud of the technical and aesthetic aspects of the project, but also to remind people who live with this reality that despite the adversities inherent to the disease, their history will not be erased.
About the author
The short film "Lethes" is an academic project that is being carried out by finalists of the Degree in Communication Sciences with a specialization in Audiovisual and Multimedia at the University of Minho. Our team, coordinated by teachers Pedro Portela and Daniel Brandão, is made up of four elements, with different positions that are divided between the areas of production, the main ones being direction, sound, art and cinematography.

Budget and due dates
The funds raised will be used for travel, food, wardrobe, props and possible unforeseen events. After considering the estimated expenses, we reached the conclusion that the necessary budget will be around €600. The entire amount will be channeled towards a faithful portrayal of this condition. Regarding the timetable, we expect the filming to take place from March 22nd to April 12th.
