This was the motto for the creation of a fado album that is unpretentious, a journey into My musical influences, a new work that marks a long-awaited return, which is very connected to my soul and which aims to make you feel it in your soul too in the same way.The themes were carefully selected to reflect this same essence that arises from a genetic inheritance and a mixed experience of different musical styles. Return to the studio, supported by excellent musicians, inspired by the most diverse fado singers and Portuguese authors, not only from the fado universe but from Portuguese music. Rediscover my origins and begin this adventure, which you are now joining, of recording an album and a professional music video. This campaign will help me on this path! BIOGRAPHY:
Mia Morgado was born on October 31, 1979 in the city of Matosinhos.
Grand-niece of two renowned fado singers in the north and south of the country, César Morgado and Leopoldo Morgado, fado was always present in her life. Despite being passionate, it was only in 2005 that she debuted singing fado in public at the Grande Noite de Fado de Braga, a nationally renowned competition organized by the ACCOFA association and whose first prize she won, this being the first of 3 prizes of great importance in her career. artistic life. She began her professional career in fado and in 2006 competed in the Grande Noite de Fado do Porto, which returned to the city that year and once again won the first senior prize. She performs on stages where she is part of casts of great artistic relevance such as Lenita Gentil, João Braga, Cidália Moreira, Anita Guerreiro, Maria da Fé, Maria da Nazaré, Rosita, among others. She was a resident and guest of some of the most emblematic fado houses in the city, in 2008 she won the senior prize of the Grande Noite de Fado do Porto "Special women's day", and developed her international career, performing for Portuguese communities around the world.
In 2011 he released his first album entitled "Abandono", produced at Estúdio 455 in Esmoriz and with the participation of guitarists Rolando Teixeira, Samuel Cabral and Jorge Serra.
In her own words:
"Fado is Truth, a truth that takes refuge in the depths of our soul, it is not just music, it is not just sound, neither interpretation nor words, it is a whole of these things that take us on an inner journey that we often do not understand , hence saying that fado exists in us Portuguese, all Portuguese, as well as the saudade that no one else has but that everyone feels, and therefore, (even if they don't understand Portuguese), they understand it!". This is her search, in all the veins that give shape to each fado, traditional and author, the search for emotions that are within oneself without knowing them.
With strong convictions, Mia Morgado is a person of great feelings, nothing is too big, nothing should be forgotten, all hugs are few and all words are insufficient. It is not conventional, it does not stick to the rigidity of what it must be, it does it because it feels right, because it makes sense and what makes sense is not always what seems right, which is why it understands that the musical complexity of fado must be demonstrated by its "flexible essence", "fado is a multiplicity of personalities, sometimes nostalgic Portuguese, folkloric Portuguese, sometimes Andalusian and Flamenco, sometimes African and sometimes Brazilian and often Arabic, fado is from the world, it is mother, it is father, children, it is love and lover, It's one place or many, fado is one person in many people."
