Interactive Holografic Map for our School

This project consists on a holographic and interactive map of our school to help new students, parents or any visitor to know their way around it! This will also make it (our school) a more interesting and cooler place :wink:

In the begining of the year we started to search how holograms worked, doing a little one our selves with a smartphone, cardboard and CD cases.

Later, our Physics teacher made us a chalendge: to make a bigger hologram that was usefull for our school. With this, we got an idea and our motivation sparked up.

Our project is to create a interactive holografic tridimensional map of our school, that would allow new students to navigate their new enviroment. It would also make our school a much more interesting, inovative and welcoming place.

Furthermore, our hologram will also be used as a learning project, enabling students interested in this area to have a place where to create and try their creations

About the author

A equipa

We are a group of students named Excelsior formed by 3 people: Bárbara Apolo, Carlos Ganhão and Jaime Silva, with ages between 17 and 18. We are in the 12th grade of Physics in highschool Francisco Fernandos Lopes.

One of the reasons to accept this challenge was allowing us to help our school be better, more interesting and different from others. Another reason was the fact that this project lets us leave our "mark" behind and actually helps future students. Besides this, it can also encourage them (future students) to develop even better projects!

Budget and due dates

The budget we need:

• Glass Pyramid: 105€
• Wooden structure, beams and hardware necessary: 150€
• Projector and microcontroler: 245€

The project will start development on April 11th and will be implemented on our school April 25th.
