GOD is a DJ - And we want to buy a church, this campaign serves to raise funds to help Technical Services for Events.

Hello,

Help us buy a church so we can go back to clubbing!!!

So the Portuguese Government has announced another strict lockdown as of Thursday, 14/01, due to the rise of Covid-19 cases. Of course we understand these measures and fully support their decision. However, what we don't understand is why churches remain open, while the event industry hasn't worked since the start of the pandemic and/or had any support at all.

The event industry, especially festivals and nightclubs haven't had the opportunity to work for nearly 1 year, and without any government support these workers (Lighting and audio engineers, promoters, artists, etc.) are going through the toughest times ever in their lives.

So, since the government won't help the industry, we though; maybe we should buy a Church and do events there, we will be worshiping our own god - The DJ.

Help us by donating.

DISCLAIMER - This campaign was created out of satire, it's not supposed to be taken seriously, any and all of the money donated here will be given to institutions that are hard at work supporting event industry professionals. So if you want to help them, then by all means donate, but know that we will NOT buy a Church!!!

Donations will go to APSTE: Portuguese Association for Event Technical Services Workers.

Budget and due dates

If you haven't read in "About this campaign" section, this campaign was created by E-Magazine - Wide Future. It is a satire regarding the current lockdown in Portugal due to Covid-19. Especially with the fact that churches remain open during this new lockdown, but on the other hand the event industy is still closed, and hasn't worked since the beginning of 2020, nor have they received any kind of government support.

Therefore, any and all donations in this campaign will be given to APSTE: Portuguese Association for Event Technical Services Workers.
