With the Race for Life, the Portuguese League Against Cancer-NRN intends to raise € 25,000.00, to support cancer patients, a risk group that needs special attention and care.
With the pandemic, the Northern Regional Center of the Portuguese League Against Cancer got even closer to cancer patients, with a Free Covid-19 Cancer Support Line and with the effective reinforcement of various types of support.
In this context, it launched the “Race for Life”, to obtain € 25,000.00 for the benefit of cancer patients, particularly those most in need, with social support, purchase and delivery of masks, psycho-oncological and legal support.
How to participate
Each participant chooses the location or the route of the activity.
You can walk, run, cycle, swim, paddle, go up and down stairs, perform gymnastic exercises, touch the ball or practice other sports or recreational activities.
You will be able to set your personal goal to cover as many kilometers as you can.
The Organization will award originality prizes.

Online registration and donation to participate: until 8:00 pm on May 30, 2020.
The registration fee is a mandatory donation, the amount of which is chosen by each participant.
Even after the event, until June 7th, donations can be granted.

Financing and Fundraising
The Portuguese League Against Cancer (LPCC) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, declared of Public Utility and exempt from IRC, qualified to receive donations from individuals and companies, which, upon receipt issued by LPCC, will have a fiscal framework. on IRS and IRC, respectively.
Not receiving any state subsidies for the development of its activities and programs, the donations granted to the LPCC, above all due to the height of its annual national fund, are the financial guarantor of the pursuit of the various aspects of its mission.
In addition to the National Pedestal, IRS consignment, inheritances, donations and bequests, are other important sources of revenue, with a slight increase in donations, especially from companies, which assume their social responsibility.
On the other hand, the LPCC organizes or promotes the realization of other types of initiatives, such as fundraising dinners, concerts and other solidarity shows, walks, races and other solidarity sporting events, with a view to obtaining funds that allow the continuation of the mission and objectives of the Institution.
Budget and due dates
The amount raised will revert, in its totality, in favor of the Portuguese League Against Cancer - Núcleo Regional do Norte, to provide support to cancer patients, namely social support, purchase and delivery of masks and psycho-oncological and legal support.
PPL is not charging any fees for this campaign except for the payment costs
