We are more than a team; We are a family that shares values and is proud of its 80-year history, we are the heritage of Guimarães.

About the author

The DFH / Clube Desportivo tens of thousands of children and young people.
We currently compete in all age groups of Men's Handball and Women's Handball. The Xico Handball Sports Club has approximately 300 practitioners, including adapted handball and Walking Handball projects (>60 years old). It was also recognized in 2022 as the best sports project by the Municipality of Guimarães, especially for its management practices across three axes: sustainability, social, financial and environmental. Still in 2022, the best project (best management practices) in the North region won by the Instituto Portugûes do Desporto e Juventude, representing Guimarães and the entire north region in the national final, also becoming the winner in the national phase.

MISSION
Clube Desportivo Xico Andebol's mission is to promote and disseminate sporting, cultural and recreational practice within the community in which it operates, providing all its athletes with quality civic and sporting education, based on humanistic principles that are based on, well-being, solidarity, health, social integration and sustainable development.

VISION
Clube Desportivo Xico Andebol increasingly aims to be a reference club at all levels. To this end, it is of great importance to include activities that contribute to the maintenance, or improvement, of strength and resistance for everyone; focuses on the benefits of physical activity for physical and mental well-being; guarantees equal opportunities and reduces inequalities. Develops a strategic study for greater sustainability of your sports practice and respective equipment and, consequently, focuses on the goals of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, assuming itself as an integral part of your strategy.
It is intended to establish itself in 2022/23 as a handball training school with high standards of sporting quality and management, a national reference in the sport, thereby obtaining the trust of families, athletes and local and national institutions, in training sports, but always with support in all components of health, well-being and academic success of its athletes, always maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

Budget and due dates

This competition, Division of Honor, is national and therefore involves a large expense in terms of travel and accommodation. There are 16 athletes and 4 members of the technical team including coaches, physiotherapist and team manager who accompany them and for whom all support is welcome. With this campaign, we seek to reach the defined fundraising amount to be able to make these trips as the club does not have enough support for this purpose. The event takes place throughout the sporting season between September 2023 and June 2024, with travel on the mainland and islands, so we expect to achieve the objective proposed in the campaign by mid-December. We count on your collaboration.
