Transforming Aida through music: help me earn a Master's in Sound Engineering

I am Domingos Francisco, Mozambican, living in Mozambique, final year student of the Sociology course at Licungo University.

Music, as well as music production, has always been my greatest passion and source of inspiration.

I've always dreamed of turning this passion into a professional career, but unfortunately, in Mozambique there is no university that offers a Master's degree in Sound Engineering.

Continuing my studies in Portugal represents the only opportunity to acquire technical and professional knowledge, allowing me to fully develop my skills and build a dignified future.

I come from a family with limited resources, my mother faces great difficulties, and completing my degree required enormous sacrifice. This master's degree will therefore be not only an academic dream, but also a concrete opportunity to overcome poverty and achieve stability and independence for myself and my family.

Campaign Objective:

The project aims to raise 71,445 euros, corresponding to two years of studies in Portugal, covering the following costs:

  1. University tuition fees
  2. Accommodation and food
  3. Round-trip air ticket
  4. Life and travel insurance
  5. Visa and administrative fees
  6. Study materials and other costs associated with the stay

Motivation:

I come from a family with limited resources. My mother faces significant financial hardship, and completing my degree required enormous effort from my family. Pursuing a Master's degree in Sound Engineering will represent a real opportunity to overcome poverty, achieve financial stability, and develop my professional career.

After completing my master's degree, I intend to join a company equipped with professional and industrial equipment, applying the knowledge I acquired to the assembly, production, and development of high-level musical projects. This training, therefore, represents a true opportunity to build a solid and dignified future.

How You Can Help:

You can support this project by contributing whatever amount you consider appropriate. Each contribution will have a decisive impact on the realization of this academic and professional dream.

To ensure complete transparency, I will provide information and send reports to supporters throughout their academic journey. You can also confirm support in person by phone or WhatsApp, if you wish.

Acknowledgments:

As a sign of recognition, I will publicly mention the support received:

  1. On social media and media
  2. At academic and cultural events
  3. At the university where you will continue your studies

This gesture will help to value the generosity of supporters and recognize each person's contribution to the completion of this project.

About the author

The promoter of this campaign is Domingos Francisco, a Mozambican citizen from the interior of Zambézia Province, residing in the city of Quelimane. I am a final-year Sociology student at Licungo University, currently writing and defending my dissertation.

Since childhood, I've faced countless financial and social hardships, having been born into a humble family with few resources. Despite these limitations, I've always maintained a strong commitment to education, believing that education is the surest way to overcome poverty and contribute to the development of society.

My passion for Sound and Lighting Engineering for Performances was born from my interest in understanding how sound and lighting can transform artistic, cultural, and human experiences. I intend to pursue further studies in this field in Portugal, as Mozambique has no university offering higher education in Sound Engineering.

The support I am requesting through this campaign is intended to facilitate my application and enrollment in a Master's degree in Sound Engineering in Portugal, covering initial costs such as tuition fees, accommodation, travel ticket, insurance, visa, food and other additional expenses necessary for adaptation and permanence during the study period.

After completing the course, I intend to return to Mozambique to apply the knowledge I have acquired, train new professionals, support local artists and cultural groups, and contribute to the strengthening of the country's creative industries and sociocultural development.

This campaign, therefore, represents an investment in knowledge and social transformation, as I believe that supporting one person's education is sowing the seeds of the future for many others. With faith, hope, and trust in human solidarity, I believe that, with your support, this dream will become reality.
