The Parish of S. José Operário (Baixa da Bath), requests support for the recovery of two houses in ruins, donated to the parish to be placed at the “service of the poor” and which will be called “All Brothers”

Detailed purpose:

We are transforming “Todos Irmãos” houses into a structure to support and help families in serious need of decent housing, as well as for homeless people due to domestic violence, homelessness, illegal presence due to lack of documentation , loss of employment and livelihoods and other situations that require an emergency overnight shelter or temporary accommodation.

a) The emergency shelter will be for short-term accommodation and may mean sleeping only one night. This type of reception is intended for a house (small T2) whose restoration, already underway, will cost around € 35,000.

b) Temporary accommodation, in turn, aims to accommodate for a limited period of time a family in a situation of serious need for decent housing, with a view to referring them to a more appropriate social response. A second home (small T3) is destined for this type of reception, whose restoration, already underway, is in the order of € 38,000.

Total cost - The project involves a budget of € 73,000, which has already been achieved with the effort of the parish economy and the help of some patrons.

Project management - The Nova Esperança Lay Association (ALNE), a non-profit canonical legal entity, will manage the project.

Concrete need - Now, on the one hand, the desire to modestly equip the 2 houses, with kitchens and other furniture, and, on the other hand, the need to find new patrons who join this final effort to achieve one more amount of € 27,540, which is why we use you, through this crowdfunding platform, to complete the project of the “Todos Irmãos” houses.
