To reduce educational inequality, Teach For Portugal develops academic results and key skills in disadvantaged students to change their lives. €10,000 contributes to 100 students being accompanied in the classroom.
Together, we are able to provide more opportunities for our students.
The problem of educational inequality
Portugal is one of the main OECD countries in which the socioeconomic context is one of the main predictors of academic success. It takes 5 generations for children born into families with lower incomes to reach average income. This is an unfair reality, which contributes to cycles of poverty and exclusion.
The vision of Teach For Portugal
Teach For Portugal's vision is that all children and teenagers should have access to an education that allows them to develop their maximum potential, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Thus, all students will have the opportunity to aspire to and realize a future for themselves that goes beyond the reality they know in their environment.
Let's grow the ambition that counts for the future.
By contributing to this campaign, you are directly contributing to the future of children and young people in Portugal.
You are helping them to develop the skills that allow them to realize their biggest dreams: to be a scientist, archaeologist, astronaut or whatever they aspire to.
This campaign allows you to have a voucher* of a day in a scientist's laboratory, a rare fossil from an archaeologist or a photo on the moon.
- Objective of the Teach For Portugal campaign: €10,000 in donations to contribute to 100 disadvantaged students being accompanied by 1 Teach For Portugal Mentor, during 2 academic years.
- Campaign duration: from November 15th to December 17th, 2023.
