We are remodeling the StreetDogs cattery to comply with the law and avoid closure. Work will start in June. We need your help! 🐾
At StreetDogs we take in and care for cats rescued from the streets, victims of abandonment, neglect or abuse. Our cattery is the only home many of them have ever known… but we need to do some work to ensure the best conditions for our kittens.
Although our cattery is legal, we urgently need to remodel the space to meet legal requirements. The works will start at the end of June and include:

Replacing rusty partitions with aluminum structures (more durable, hygienic and safe);

Creation of distinct areas required by law: infirmary, maternity, isolation, quarantine, laundry and common space;

Changing the piping, ensuring water and sewage points in the necessary areas;

Installation of ventilation and painting of walls with suitable materials.
This crowdfunding is our hope to continue protecting our kittens and ensuring that they have a dignified, clean, safe space that meets all the necessary requirements.

About the author
StreetDogs, an association with almost 10 years of experience in the municipality of Barcelos, rescues and takes in animals in situations of risk, abandonment, abuse, etc. With around 60 animals under our care, we provide them with essential care and the hope of a new home with adoptive families.
There are many challenges – from veterinary expenses (we have around €3,000 in debt), hotels for the dogs (we have several hundred euros in fixed monthly expenses), to the need to improve the space where we welcome them (the cats, in this case).
Each donation is an essential help to continue this mission and to continue to guarantee a safe and welcoming environment for each pet.

This budget was the one we found most feasible, out of all those proposed. It was sent to us by a reconstruction/remodeling company in Barcelos.
The works will begin at the end of this month (June) and we have until the end of July to raise the full amount and make the respective payment.
To help raise the total amount, we have held fairs with material offered by companies and participated in local events with raffles and merchandising.
Note: we have to reach €10,000 in 60 days because if we don't we will lose all the donations!
Of the €10,000, PPL gets €922.50 in commission, leaving only €9,077.50. But we can exceed €10,000 in 60 days.
