Quero SER Digital represents the relationship between People with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), digital citizenship and social inclusion through new information and communication technologies.

Quero SER Digital is a campaign aimed at people with Multiple Sclerosis who cannot access the online world due to their motor limitations. We want to change this reality! We want to start somewhere! The side of solutions and digital integration!

What do we want with this CAMPAIGN?

• Transform the inaccessible into the accessible, contributing to socio-digital inclusion and digital citizenship. SPEM has previous experiences that show that digital makes the lives of people with MS more proactive and contributes to reducing their social isolation.

We want to support people with MS with motor limitations resulting from the progression of the disease, guaranteeing their quality of life and access to rehabilitation technologies that allow them to access the digital world. We do not want the disease to be a condition for people with disabilities to access digital citizenship. We want to offer solutions!

How are we going to do it? through the acquisition of Assistive Technologies (AT) that respond to the specific needs in the field of Assistive Products (AP) of people with severe neuromotor dysfunctions, namely, people with Multiple Sclerosis.

• The area of Support Technologies for Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) is a fundamental area of action that provides specific Software for Alternative and Augmentative Communication, access interfaces and Integrated IT Solutions that allow people with motor disabilities to serious, stop being “ info-excluded ” and fully integrate into an increasingly Digital Society.

Who is the Portuguese Multiple Sclerosis Society?
SPEM is a Private Social Solidarity Institution (IPSS) recognized as a Non-Governmental Organization of People with Disabilities (NGOPD) and Association for the Defense of Health Users (ADUS), created in 1984, with headquarters at Rua Zófimo Pedroso, nº66, 1950 -291 Lisbon.

What is SPEM's mission? Contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), family members and caregivers.

At an international level, SPEM ensures the representation of Portugal in the European MS Platform (EMSP) and in the MS International Federation (MSIF)!

Where are we?
SPEM is present from North to South of the country and Islands, managing to reach more and more people affected by MS. We have 19 regional offices in the following geographic locations: Bragança, Porto, Viseu, Aveiro, Guarda, Coimbra, Castelo Branco, Leiria, Santarém, Portalegre, Torres Vedras, Cascais, Lisbon, Évora, Setúbal, Beja, Faro and Azores (Ponta Delgada and vegetable garden).

What we do?
SPEM intends to fight for the improvement of the living conditions of people with MS, their families and caregivers. As an integral part of this objective, we provide the following services:

Budget and due dates

With this CAMPAIGN, SPEM intends to raise €6,000 to acquire Rehabilitation Technologies for two people with Multiple Sclerosis with motor difficulties and difficulties with accessing the digital world.

Equipment to purchase:

2 Grid 3; 2 PCeye 5; 2 Ambient Control by USB; 1 Jelly Bean Twist Handle; 1 USB Inproman 2; 1 Support System for mobile phone and handle; 2 laptop computers.

Regular activity: dissemination and promotion of the Quero SER Digital CAMPAIGN by SPEM's media, namely, website, social networks, newsletter and quarterly bulletin.

If we are able to reach the fundraising objective, we will acquire and distribute the equipment to identified people with MS.

Subsequently, we will include these people in SPEM Social Projects that take place in digital and that intervene in fundamental areas for the good personal management of the disease (cognitive stimulation, psychology, social support and thematic workshops).
