The Sinfonia do Bairro will perform in Paris with the École d'Art Musical from 29/11 to 1/12. It is a unique opportunity for the students, but they need financial support to cover the rental of instruments and venues for the concerts.

The "Sinfonia do Bairro" is about to make a dream come true: taking our students to the international stage in Paris! We have been invited to perform with the prestigious École d'Art Musical de Paris, in a series of collaborative concerts from November 29 to December 1, 2024. This is a unique opportunity for the students of our project to represent local culture in one of the world's art capitals.

We need your help initially to cover the costs of travel, instrument rental and concert venues, as well as the production of these. Later, we will need your support in producing an official documentary of the tour.

Our goal is to raise €4,000 to bring 38 students and 3 teachers to Paris. We want to ensure that all members of the "Sinfonia do Bairro" can be part of this experience without having to pay the high costs of travel and accommodation.

Concerto no Museu dos Coches

About the author

"Sinfonia do Bairro" is an innovative project created by teacher Mariana Pinto, aimed at adults who have always dreamed of learning to play an instrument, without the need for any prior musical knowledge. We offer violin and cello courses for adults, where students have the opportunity to explore a variety of musical styles, from traditional Portuguese music and blues, to rock and the great contemporary classics.

Classes are taught in groups and are led by Mariana Pinto, with the support of a talented team of teachers. The project currently has nine violin classes and two cello classes, spread across different neighborhoods of Lisbon, such as Arroios, Carnide, Laranjeiras and Belém, in cultural and recreational spaces.

Our team of teachers includes Professors Gleciane Freitas and Daniela Barraza (violin) and Professor Joana Correia (cello), who are committed to the musical growth of our students. In addition to classes, we hold presentations so that students can demonstrate their progress and share this journey with the community.

We have already participated in important events, such as the "Bairro em Festa" Festival in Arroios and a special concert at the Museu dos Coches, in collaboration with the École d'Art Musical de Paris.

Now, after the success in Lisbon, we are ready to take a big step: our first international tour in Paris, from November 29 to December 1, 2024, once again in partnership with the École d'Art Musical de Paris.

With your support, we will take "Sinfonia do Bairro" to new horizons, spreading the passion for music and strengthening ties between cultures!
