Research with twenty three 5 years old children to understand how different reading animation strategies approach children and bring them closer to stories, reading and books.
“Sementes de palavras” (Seeds of Words) project raised from Reading Animation Master that I am attending at “E. S. E. Paula Frassinetti”. With these “Seeds” I intent develop “Reading for Pleasure”, joining books and public by playing stimulation. I want to breakdown fences and drive away some fears.
I will do my research with twenty three 5 years old children to understand how different reading animation strategies approach children and bring them closer to stories, reading and books.
This project will be implemented during fifty minutes sessions, once a week, from November 2014 to February 2015.
Children will do story exploitation tasks such as drawing, painting, creative writing, dramatic and musical expression after listening to the story.
The project will be implemented at C.I.V.A.S., a IPSS in Matosinhos city where there are a lot of social work with children and elderly people. Mostly users have low economic resources because of economic crisis and they have no means to support financially the activities this project offers.
As I want a different way to lead children to love reading, I need to give to each child the complete collection of books we will use during the sessions in order they can have a closer and more intense contact with the book and the story.
As a complement of this project, I would like improving the amount of books of the class library with books of recognized quality by National Plan for Reading (PNL – Plano Nacional de Leitura) from Ministry of Education, and by “The House of Reading” (Casa da Leitura).
I also need to buy different materials for all the mentioned activities.
