Fundraising campaign by 66 Pela Quinta to finance the costs of legal action initiated by 66 citizens for the preservation of the historic and vitally important Quinta dos Ingleses in Carcavelos and against its massive urbanization.

About the campaign

SUPPORT “66 PELA QUINTA”

A popular action signed by 66 citizens is currently underway—symbolizing the 66 years of popular resistance against the urbanization of Quinta dos Ingleses. The popular action “66 FOR QUINTA” demonstrates the strength of citizenship.
A strong team of lawyers is challenging the Quinta's urbanization process, based on serious administrative flaws.

On October 15, 2025, a precautionary measure was filed in court, and the works are now suspended. The next step is to proceed with the main action. We are short €3,100 to pay for this stage. We need your help.

Objectives:

✅ Maintain the embargo and prevent the urbanization of Quinta dos Ingleses.
✅ Uphold democracy.
✅ Protect the forest to create an Urban Natural Park next to Carcavelos Beach.

We emphasize that the 66 Pela Quinta movement is not against plans to build and expand the St. Julian's campus to meet its current needs. We also believe it is in the school's best interest for the surrounding environment to consist of a park rather than a mega-urbanization and concrete.

Urbanizing the Quinta goes against the will of the population, the explicit wishes of 11,000 citizens, and is against Resolution 208/2021 of the Assembly of the Republic.

We have a proven track record in defending Quinta dos Ingleses, and our names are known to all who have participated in or come into contact with this cause and its various forms of action.

Portuguese citizens or people of other nationalities, we are all residents in Cascais and Carcavelos.

Budget and due dates

In July 2025, the founders of this initiative raised €6,000 to pay for the preparation of the precautionary measure. In August 2025, we managed to raise another €6,000 through donations.

We will need another €3,100 to continue with the main action.

With the precautionary measure already filed on October 15, 2025, we proceeded to the preparation and filing of the main action, including the steps to be taken in court.

Costs may increase if more hours are needed to complete the process. In that case, we will continue the campaign to fund the additional costs.

If the funds raised exceed the amounts needed to pay the lawyers, we will donate the surplus to an organization active in the environmental field.
