My dog, Pirate, has been diagnosed with lymphoma (a tumor in the lymph nodes) and needs chemotherapy.
The Pirate was found on the street on December 7, 2007 and since that day he has been part of the family, like all of our pets. In general it was always healthy and I thought it would continue for a long time.
In June 2020 the Pirate fell ill and what I feared most came to be confirmed: cancer, more specifically a lymphoma.
Between consultations, urgent visits to the vet, analyzes, exams, on June 29th they gave me the news that it cost me most to hear in my entire life - the time I had left. And without chemotherapy the Pirate would not live more than a month. The chemotherapy that the Pirate is doing is not a cure, unfortunately. I still know that I will lose it long before I expected it. Long before old age took it easy. But give us 12 months. 12 months to enjoy the dog love that I was lucky to find and the pride to say that it belongs to my family.
As with almost everything in veterinary medicine, Pirate treatment is not cheap, and this is how I need help. I need to ensure that the Pirate will be at the clinic every week and that the cost will be borne.
