Missão Gato 100 Raças helps wandering cats who have been abandoned, neglected and/or mistreated.
Missão Gato 100 Raças came from the desire of a group of friends, protectors of wandering cats, to go even further to help "no one's animals."
We assist wandering, abandoned cats, victims of neglect and / or mistreatment by the human being. Our volunteer work includes:
- STERILIZATION of wandering cats to control the number of those living unprotected on the street
- RESCUE of animals at risk and, whenever possible, of their referral to ADOPTION
- Veterinary treatment of cats without owner
- FEEDING of unprotected cat colonies.
Since we do not have help from the state or any other entity, we have to pay for everything ourselves (which is expensive, as you can imagine), and this is our main challenge!
Thanks to a partnership with a veterinary clinic in Odivelas - Os Patudos Veterinary Clinic - we are able to provide veterinary assistance to all the cats that arrive and need treatment. The tireless work and huge heart of this team means that our feline friends never miss anything. However, veterinary treatments are expensive, and in order to help more animals, we need to settle the account we currently have to pay.
At present we support, without external aid, the fixed expenses of our space - rent, water, light - and we receive, fortunately, donations so that our cats will not lack anything - sand, food, pâtés, medicines.
In this way, we need your help to settle the debt we have at the clinic, already over 2000 €, so we can continue to carry out our work and save lives.
You can check more about our work, including some of the more difficult cases, on our Facebook.
We end as we began, reminiscing one of our maxims and something that motivates us daily and gives us strength to continue:
"Be the change you want to see in the world"
