Act to recover - Mountain range of Lousã

We’re counting on everyone’s help to restore the Serra da Lousã natural beauty through a fund managed by the Talasnal Recovery Association. A small contribution is enough for two or three trees. Help us from afar, and we’ll make sure to make a difference where nature needs. Thank you 🙏

Yes, it happened at our doorstep - Portugal's mountains were burning and all the fauna and flora have disappearing, and communities' homes and agriculture were threatened.
And we need to help... in this case, to rebuild and restore the beauty of our landscape where native animals, flora and tourism blend in harmony together sustaining tradition, culture and environment.
This year, we have become members of one of these communities - the Talasnal Recovery Association in Serra da Lousã - and thus we guarantee that this fund we collect will be allocated to the recovery of the Serra (there will be no diversions as happened in 2017 Pedrogão).

With the onset of autumn, we will take advantage of the opportunity to replant the native trees, shrubs and flowers which will later create food sources for deers, wild boars, birds, bees, etc. during the winter.

Help us with a contribution. We guarantee it will be applied properly through the local village association, not diverted as has happened in the past through others.

We are members of the Talasnal Recovery Association - a schist village located in the Serra da Lousã, where we have local accommodation.

We are passionate about the tradition of these schist villages and the typical flora and fauna of the Serra da Lousã.

We know the Portuguese and foreigners value the interior of the country, are fans of the cultural traditions and landscape that characterize our country.

Sometimes, people living in cities can't help at the site, but they can help financially.

Therefore, we and the locals are commmiting to help with the recovery with time and labor, but we need support in acquiring plants and equipment for replanting.

Budget and due dates

The amount requested is below the value needed, so we are hopeful that we can surpass the value suggested. 🙏😉

We would like to raise funds to purchase plants and food for the mountain animals.
The plants will be planted between late October and early December on the slopes of the mountain, and again during the months of April and May. Food for the deer, wild boar, birds, and bees will be in the form of plants and food, and will be distributed throughout the winter through the local wildlife protection and surveillance organization.

All contacts will be established through the Talasnal Recovery Association of which we are members.
