Construction of a WWTP at the Kausa Animal shelter, for waste treatment.
Following some works to improve the space, the current objective is to raise the amount necessary to build a WWTP within the association's shelter.
Nowadays, the shelter's wastewater system works through the existence of a septic tank, which involves cleaning it on a weekly basis.
The construction of the WWTP will allow the treatment of water, which will later be sent to the public sanitation system. In this way, in addition to automating residual treatment, simplifying procedures and freeing up time for activities dedicated to collected animals, a cleaner environment is guaranteed.
We therefore appeal for everyone's help. There are no small helps, there are HELP . Any euro is welcome!
Thank you to everyone, to those who contribute but also to those who publicize this initiative.

About the author
The Kausa Animal Portugal Association is dedicated to the protection, treatment, feeding and subsequent referral for responsible adoption of collected animals. It is a non-profit association, duly legalized and located in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal. It houses around 500 dogs and a dozen cats, most of them elderly or sick, and also supports some colonies. It works almost exclusively with volunteers.
Like all private associations, it faces economic difficulties. In addition to the bills for food (around 4 tons per month) and water, which are made available to the animals daily, there are various expenses for veterinary treatments and medication.
In order to guarantee better conditions for the animals that remain in the shelter, improvement works have been carried out, such as cementing the floor in common areas, reinforcing sheds, nets and box doors, for example. All of these initiatives are almost always sponsored by donations and support, given that the association does not generate revenue nor has a commercial purpose.
