About the author

The Crescer Project is a non-profit Catholic Youth Association in the municipality of Sintra, based in the Idanha chapel. The main objective of this project is to develop social action activities for disadvantaged children and young people in the parish of Belas, namely in the Bairro das Campinas (a social housing district) and Idanha, promoting volunteering among young people. We carry out various activities such as bimonthly activities at the headquarters (with children aged 5 to 15), monthly activities (with young people aged 15 to 18), a week of activities during the Easter holidays, a weekend away from home, a week of summer camp and the distribution of gifts and other goods at Christmas and at the beginning of the school year. We currently have around 17 young volunteers and 40 children and young people, aged between 5 and 18.

The total estimated value to take the young people from the Crescer Project to the Youth Jubilee in Rome is €6,600 , distributed as follows:

• 🚌 Bus trips (Lisbon – Rome – Lisbon): €3120
• 🏨 Accommodation (in parishes/gyms during the Jubilee and accommodation in Barcelona, Turin and Lourdes): €1500
• 🍽️ Food during the Jubilee (10 meal vouchers + Box-Lunch): €720
• 🚋 Local transport in Rome (weekly metro/bus ticket): €180
• 🛡️ Travel insurance and Jubilee insurance: €180
• 🎒 Pilgrim Kit and Diocesan Kit: €150
• 💧 Extra expenses (water, snacks, etc.): €120
• ✨ Cultural activities and materials for moments of reflection and conviviality: €630

Calendarization

The project is expected to be implemented as follows:

• March – April 2025: Logistical organization of the trip (registration, transport and accommodation reservations).
• May – June 2025: Preparation sessions with young people to develop cultural, social and spiritual skills.
• 25 July to 5 August 2025: Trip to Rome and participation in the Jubilee of Young People .
• August 2025: Final report and sharing of experience with donors through photographs, videos and thank you messages.
