Talking about female pleasure still causes discomfort. Whether in a conversation among friends, in an unwelcoming sex shop, or even at home, where finding the right words feels difficult. But why? Because we grew up without a safe space to talk about sexuality naturally, with knowledge and freedom.
The Joy Spot was born from that gap—the lack of places where women could explore pleasure without judgment, with quality information and experiences truly designed for them. The idea emerged from small moments of discomfort: a visit to a sex shop where shame outweighed curiosity, the uneasy reactions whenever sexuality came up in a group conversation. And from an inspiring moment: visiting the Amor Veneris – A Journey into Female Sexual Pleasure exhibition, which showed just how much there is still to learn.
All these moments led to one certainty: we need a different kind of space.
Now, we want to turn this vision into a physical reality—a place where pleasure is embraced with elegance, respect, and knowledge. A refuge for those who want to learn, discover, and connect with themselves, free from discomfort and taboos.
To make this happen, we need your help. The funds raised will ensure that this space is ready to welcome you with the quality and safety you deserve.
The amount will be invested in:
- Equipment, furniture, and materials for courses, workshops, and demonstrations.
- Essential equipment to ensure the space meets all safety regulations.
- Printed educational materials.

About the author
My name is Joana, and I am the founder of this project. I've always felt that there was a missing space where we could talk about desire, intimacy, and self-care naturally, without taboos or discomfort. And if that space didn’t exist… then it had to be created!
The Joy Spot was born from a deep desire to create a place where women can explore their sexuality at their own pace, with freedom and without judgment. It started online a year ago, but it was always aiming for something bigger—a physical space where we could learn, share, and grow together. An elegant, safe, and welcoming place where every woman feels comfortable exploring her own journey, whether through workshops, sensory experiences, or simply an environment where positive sexuality is celebrated.
Now, this space is about to come to life, and every contribution helps us take this step.

Budget and due dates
The project has the following phases:
- Creation of the brand in April 2024, with the selection of quality products and contact with professionals in the field, such as sexologists, psychologists, gynecologists, BDSM specialists, among others.
- Development of the physical space concept during the summer of 2024, designing an elegant, safe and welcoming place.
- Work will begin on the physical space in Saldanha in December 2024, ensuring that the location meets all the requirements to provide enriching experiences.
- Reception of essential equipment and products for the space, including materials for sessions, workshops and courses, scheduled for April 2025.
- The Joy Spot officially opens in May 2025, creating an innovative meeting place for positive sexuality.
The campaign aims to raise support to finance part of the costs of equipment and furniture for courses and workshops, materials for demonstrations, and adaptation of the space to safety standards, to the value of 5,000€ , which corresponds to around 6% of the total cost of the project.
