Joaninha is a kitten who lives at Escola Secundária do Lumiar, in Lisbon, and needs surgery URGENTLY !

When Joaninha's usual caregivers saw that she had not left her bed for 2 days, they knew something was wrong, and a trip to the veterinary emergency room confirmed the WORST : Joaninha had broken the elbow of her right foreleg and could not walk without atrocious pain. Joaninha was hospitalized and the orthopedic surgery costs €445 (plus pre and post-operative expenses). The incredible team at Associação Zoófila Portuguesa has been tireless in keeping Joaninha stable and as comfortable as possible until the surgery is possible, but the caregivers ask for YOUR help. We want Joaninha to walk again and your help is precious and very welcome.

So far, Joaninha's care has been the best possible: daily food and water, pampering when allowed, a dry and sheltered bed, she has been sterilized for some years now and is frequently deparatized, everything so that this wild kitten is comfortable and able to live her life in the space of the School without anything missing. Right now, EVERYTHING CHANGED: in addition to immediate health care, Joaninha will not be able to return to school. Adoption is an opportunity, after the medical care she needs. The caretakers of the wild cat colonies surrounding the Lumiar schools, do an incredible job: daily they take care of these animals for whom the luck of a shelter or adoption has not knocked at the door, they provide water and food and provide health care whenever necessary. Unfortunately it is not possible to reach everyone with everything, Joaninha is one of them: the surgery goes beyond the caregivers' possessions and any contribution will help! Caregivers will ensure the adoption of Joaninha after surgery.

Budget and due dates

Joaninha is already hospitalized, so the medical expenses are already taking place, in the next few days the surgery will be performed and when Joaninha is discharged... it will be necessary to pay the bill!
