Supports the Energy Democracy Days, an event taking place on the 11th and 12th of May in Lisbon, to promote a public, community and fossil-free energy model.
We are promoting this campaign to raise funds to help and support the first Energy Democracy Days (JDE). The JDE will take place in Lisbon on May 11 and 12, 2024 to debate, in an open and free event, a new energy model rooted in energy democracy, the priority of efficiency and sufficiency, circularity of resources, as well as respect for ecological heritage and biodiversity, without burdening future generations. We believe that the current structure of the energy system, driven by the market and marked by a lack of democratic participation and transparency, is not compatible with democratization and access to energy as a public good, nor with the urgent climate crisis. Therefore we want to promote and build a 100% renewable energy system and defend a fair and democratic energy transition that sees energy as a common good.
To cover the costs of communication and publicity (€1,000) and logistics (€3,000) we have created this crowdfunding project and invite you to support the JDE with a donation.
About the author
The Energy Democracy Days are an event organized by a voluntary, collective and horizontal group. We are a group of professionals, academics and activists involved with energy-related initiatives, or simply interested in energy issues. More than our training or professional activity, we are united by the objective of building, in the coming years, a new energy system and defending a fair and democratic energy transition, which understands energy as a right and a common good. Budget and due dates
The event will take place on May 11 and 12, 2024. Of the total, we hope to raise around €1,000 for communication - graphic design; costs for social media campaigns; costs for printing posters and promotional materials for the event. The remaining €3,000 will be used to support all the logistics of the event - including the costs of using the space and the duration of the event and essential equipment for the event (projectors, microphones); travel and travel of participants; recording of the event.
