My name is Francisco, I am 18 years old and I have a little dog, Freya, who is only 3 months old and is fighting for her life. After suffering several seizures, she was hospitalized, but the costs are high and I have no income. I would like to ask for your solidarity.
Hello, my name is Francisco and I am asking for your help for my dog, Freya, who is only 3 months old. She was recently adopted from an association, where she was found in a pack of eight dogs.
At first, everything was going well, but suddenly, the little dog started having seizures.
She is currently being cared for at the hospital, where the vets are doing everything they can to diagnose and treat her. Unfortunately, the costs are piling up and are too much for me at the moment. (At this point, 440 euros have already been spent)
At this moment what we have on the table is that it could be a portosystemic shunt (abnormal vascular communication between the portal vein and the vena cava) is especially relevant in young dogs.
This type of shunt can be congenital, which is relatively common in some breeds, and can affect the liver's ability to properly filter toxins from the blood. This problem can result in symptoms such as lethargy, gastrointestinal problems, or even neurological signs (such as disorientation or seizures) due to the buildup of toxins.
The other suspicion is that it would be a bacteria present in the puppy's brain, which would cause her to have these convulsions.
But the doctors are still unsure about what it could be, so Freya is going to have another ultrasound but it will add another €95 to the bill. My family and I have been trying as much as possible, but our income is scarce...
I ask for your generosity to help cover her medical expenses. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a huge difference in Freya's life.
I sincerely appreciate any support you can offer, and I promise to keep everyone updated on her recovery.
Thank you so much for your help and for being a part of Freya's life!
