The Descomplicar Project helps vulnerable families solve everyday problems. Personalized and fast support, tailored to their needs. Its the small actions that bring about big changes.
Together We Can Do More! Whether as volunteers or through donations, the important thing is to participate in improving the world.
For many families in vulnerable situations, especially foreign families, dealing with day-to-day bureaucracy can be a major challenge. Language, cultural and literacy barriers make it difficult to access basic services, compromising their integration and quality of life.
The Descomplicar project aims to make life easier for some of these families, initially in the municipality of Setúbal, but we want to expand to other parts of the country. In short, we will be open on an itinerant basis (at times when people can be there, such as weekends and weekdays after 5 pm) and help solve real and immediate problems. For example:
- We explain bureaucratic processes and help you fill out essential documents (school registration, access to social security, healthcare system, among others);
- We build bridges with public institutions (schools, parish councils, social security, health centers, associations);
- Simplify official communications or have them translated.
- Refer to specialized support, if necessary, in the legal, education, health areas (…)
We believe that a fairer and more inclusive society starts with equitable access to essential information and support. With the support of strategic partners, we aim to create a positive and lasting impact on the most disadvantaged communities.
Making Life Easier for Families in Vulnerable Situations
Support families from underprivileged neighborhoods, especially foreign families with children, in understanding and resolving everyday bureaucracy, promoting their inclusion and autonomy.

About the author
EMPATIAS is a social support association operating in the Setúbal area. We believe that transforming society requires more than words and intentions: it requires action. That is why we develop innovative projects that address social and educational challenges in a practical and effective way. Our commitment is to test solutions in the field, evaluate their impact and continually improve our approach.
Prevention: The Foundation of a More Just Society
Children are the future. Yet, too often their potential remains unrealized due to social and educational barriers. One thing is certain: true change begins in childhood. Investing in children’s education and development is the path to a more equitable and sustainable society.
Every child is unique and should be nurtured according to their individual characteristics. However, not all families and schools have the resources and tools needed to promote essential values and life skills. Our goal is to spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking and stimulate the desire to learn, ensuring that every child has real opportunities for growth and development.
No change happens in isolation. We believe that by working in a network with strategic partners and stakeholders, we can identify the most urgent needs and direct our efforts to where they will have the greatest impact. Social transformation is a collective effort and, when developed in harmony, it generates more effective and lasting results.
We are ready for this challenge. Motivating, inspiring and promoting change are our commitments. We count on you to create a better future together.
Budget and due dates
Budget Summary (2 days a week, from 4pm to 9pm and Saturday from 9:30am to 8pm, in different partner/or rented locations, in Setúbal)
The first phase of the project will run from March 17 to April 30, with a mobile support office to make life easier for those who have difficulty resolving everyday issues. The money raised will be used to cover the costs of purchasing equipment, such as a laptop and printer, as well as the costs of the website and communication material. Although this is a project that will depend on volunteers, we believe that travel and food expenses should be covered.
