The Champs Academy aims at the social integration of young people in contexts of social vulnerability through the practice of tennis.

Since 2009, we have been forming champions for life. Currently, our 9 centers allow us to accompany and assist around 250 young people who, through the Champs Academy, benefit from the regular practice of a sport that will help them on their personal and professional path!

With the first decade of life at the Academia dos Champs completed, the project continues to consolidate in the various centers of activity, with increasing recognition of the work carried out.

The professional future of our students, whether or not they are part of the Academy of Champs, is one of the permanent and long-term objectives, above all thanks to the commitment and commitment of all Champs who have been successful in their adult lives.

Our project has been experiencing very positive results, as a result of the various support collected. However, the pandemic we are currently facing has impacted us on several fronts, as activities were suspended for a long period of time and resumed only partially in September. With this, our Champs were deprived of the modality that they cherish so much and that is vital in their development process, something that was mitigated by the Academy of Champs that, through its social partners, maintained the connection to the students, making available several digital contents for to remain active during forced confinement. As a result, the fundraising process as well as maintaining partnerships were real financial challenges for the Academia dos Champs.

We want to raise awareness, so we launched the challenge: join us and help the Champs Academy achieve its goals and create an impact on the largest number of lives. We will continue our Mission unceasingly, meaningfully marking our students with values that we are sure will put into practice throughout their lives.

For this campaign we have set a target of € 2000 to be reached, with the implementation period from November 2020 to July 2021.

The truth is, it is a huge challenge to get funding to guarantee the sustainability of projects like the Academia dos Champs.

Regular or one-off monetary donations allow the Academy of

Champs face the needs inherent to their activity, such as paying coaches more than 2,000 tennis lessons given each year to the children covered by the organization.

As we embrace the demanding mission of helping those in need, great challenges arise. The amount collected in this campaign will benefit a total of 10 children, during the mentioned implementation period, guaranteeing access to between 90 and 100 tennis lessons.

About the author

Our mission is “to integrate socially, using sport as a training and monitoring tool for children and young people in situations of social vulnerability” .

Sport conveys values of teamwork, healthy competition, respect, standards of conduct and many other principles. In this case, using tennis as a tool is an innovative way of instilling guidelines in young people, helping to combat everyday problems, which are aggravated by the economic and social situation in which they usually live. In addition, the bet on an inexpensive modality with little penetration in the neighborhoods where the Champs Academy operates is our contribution to the democratization of access to sport, as an individual right for each citizen. By putting into practice the maxim of "SPORT FOR ALL".

Tennis lessons provide a different context from the one in which lessons are usually passed on to young people, helping to break down some barriers. Informality and the strong link created between teachers and students, reinforced by the individual character of the modality, allow for technical teachings, but also a greater and more effective development of the emotional aspect of young people. All coaches at Academia dos Champs are duly certified, thus offering a guarantee of quality in the teaching of tennis. In addition to the technical competence, the coaches present a profile of marked pedagogical nature, in order to respond to the various challenges that arise in the day-to-day with the students of the Academy of Champs, at the same time that they assume a decisive role in the transmission of values of human formation that are one of the main pillars of the whole project.

Budget and due dates
