We're going to build a new house in Inharrime. It starts here a new path full of opportunities for the kids and grandmother Zaida.

Anolêncio, Biolávio and Zenaldo are three brothers. They live with grandmother Zaida "in the bush" and far from the nearest community. Because of this distance, these boys do not go to school and grandmother Zaida has to travel long distances to fetch water and food. As she gets older, this distance becomes heavy and there are many miles that she has to travel under heat. The "chapas" (the name of the local buses) do not reach their house, the path is very hard to reach and of dificult access, leaving this family completely isolated. One of the problems of this distance was already felt; grandmother Zaida was not able to be in the Laura Vicuña Center for the distribution of food that happens 4 times a year. And believe me, this family needs it. As you can see in the video this family lives with very little and without resources, they all sleep together on the floor inside a very small "hut" and with only a mosquito net for the 4 of them.

We want to give them better living conditions, to make their lives bearable and more important, that these boys can have the opportunity to study. Our main purpose is to bring them into the community to go to school, to play with other children and have more accessibility to everything they need.

Every help is welcome!

We hope that with the help of everyone we can make this dream come true!

We promise to send the before and after photos to ALL participants who give us their email (write it down when funding).

On behalf of all of us (Gomes family and Santos family),

Thank you!

Nabonga!

About the author

Cláudia Gomes and Carla Santos. We have known each other since as long as we can remember. Family Gomes and Family Santos, neighbors.

We first heard of the Associação Amigos de Inharrime in 2015, on the other side of the world, more specifically, on a visit to Kyoto. Meeting portuguese people in any part of the world is something special, and this meeting proved to be a huge surprise that took us to this association.

Still in 2015, with our families, we sponsored Anolêncio and Biolávio and in 2017, Claudia went to Inharrime, doing volunteering work for 2 months, and had the fantastic opportunity to share with this community amazing moments, being one of them, to meet this family of 3 very special boys and their grandmother of an incredible strength.

Getting to meet this family was not easy, so the idea of bringing them closer to the community began here.

Budget and due dates

The campaign ends on March 31st, 2018.

Our goal is to raise € 770 through this crowdfunding platform, which is needed for the necessary materials and labor for the construction of the "hut" in Inharrime, Mozambique. The land was offered by us, an important step in which we had the support and help of Sister Lucília of the Centro Laura Vicuña, to whom we give a very special thank you.

When we reach the goal, we will take this money to Inharrime, so we can start the construction of the "hut". We expect its conclusion in a month or 40 days.

If the amount raised is lower than our objective, the money is to be returned to the supporters, and each supporter can decide to make the donation even if the goal is not achieved.
