A new home for the "Brigada do Reumático"

Chavo, Merlin, Tulipa, Brisa, and Rossio want a new home for the coming winter. Let's all work to make this happen. Be part of the solution.

There are several dogs roaming free in our shelter. Right now, they are Merlin, Tulipa, Brisa, Rossio, and Chavo. They have a shelter just for them, which has been repaired over the years, but is already in need of renovation: it leaks and lets in wind, making it unsuitable for housing older dogs.

Chavo, the leader of the "Rheumatic Brigade" gang, embraced new technologies, and came to give us a taste of what the new shelter will be like: a new home, with better thermal performance and better suited to daily cleaning and maintenance needs.

Later, a shaded and protected area will be created so they can be outdoors, but protected, on rainy days.

About the author

We are an animal welfare association based in Évora, founded on October 19, 1979, and officially recognized october 28 as Public Utility Institution 1988.

Our main mission is to find homes for dogs and cats that, in various ways and for various reasons, have entered our shelter.

Concurrently, we develop several activities aimed at animal welfare, individually or in partnership with other national and international associations.

Budget and due dates

The specifications presented by Chavo are as follows:
- Wooden shelter 230x213x203 cm HAYA – Leroy Merlin – €1,059

- Transport – €160.02

- Installation by technicians – €365

- Xylazel natural matt wood protector, exterior, water repellent 2.5 L – 2 x 57.99 = €115.98

Total Budget, with VAT: €1,700

    Lançámos esta campanha no dia 9 de outubro. O nosso objetivo inicial era angariar o valor necessário para a aquisição do novo abrigo para a ‘Brigada do Reumático’, mas para surpresa de todos, em poucos dias esse objetivo foi alcançado e superado! Ficámos incrédulos com tanta generosidade e empatia para com o nosso projeto.
    Com tudo isto, decidimos avançar um pouco mais e incluir a construção para colocar o abrigo, cujo orçamento ainda não tínhamos na data do lançamento (base em betão 3m x 2.80m x 0.15m).
    O nosso objectivo é agora de 2.200€.
