Friends, we really need help paying the bill at the veterinary clinic for the dozens of animals we treat and sterilize...

Mr António was an 88-year-old man who fed and cared for 80 stray cats on the streets of Porto on a daily basis. Unfortunately he passed away in March 2021 and nowadays his legacy continues to be made by Mr. Fernando.

Since mid-April we have rescued more than 50 baby cats. Several of them are bottle-fed every 2 hours. Babies that result from unwanted litters, poorly treated animals owned by people who think that abandoning them is the solution and therefore pass the responsibility for their irresponsibility to those who take care of them... in this case, us!

We had 22 babies hospitalized with the panleukopenia virus who did not resist... One had survived but ended up dying.

We had 3 babies with a rare and non-specific disease. They began to lose mobility in their hind legs, began to lose weight and become completely deformed. We had to use euthanasia.

We had a cat with an open palate undergoing treatment for a multiresistant bacteria with a compounded drug.

There were several animals sterilized...

We had animals treated with dermatophytosis (infectious skin disease), commonly known as ringworm .

We had a cat with carcinoma in the ears, which had to be amputated.

These are just a few examples but there were dozens of animals that we treated... all this with the help of individuals and friends. We are not an association!

It's cans and cans of milk... it's food for baby kittens... it's internal and external deworming... all of this has costs!

This campaign aims to pay bills at veterinary clinics, especially at the clinic whose proof is attached.... IT'S URGENT! This is the only way we can continue to help more animals... The remaining amount will be used to buy feed and sand, as donations are getting smaller and smaller...

All of this sounds easy but believe me it is extremely exhausting... especially in addition to everything we do... feed more than 100 stray cats every day, treat, sterilize... Yes... This year alone, the The number of animals we feed on the street has increased by more than 20...

About the author

We are Vânia Dias and Mr. Fernando. Two people with a common interest: animals! I have actively supported the animal cause for over 11 years now. I try to help the animals that cross paths with us and I have already sterilized more than 1000 animals and I have already sent more than 300 animals for adoption. Mr. Fernando, fulfills the legacy of Mr. António and walks the streets of Porto and Campanhã daily to feed more than 80 stray cats.

Unfortunately, nowadays it's easier to pass "the hot potato" to others and the requests that come to us are more and more.

It is very difficult to do all this privately, but it is undoubtedly very rewarding to know if we save a life or that we provide a better life.

Budget and due dates

At the moment our goal is to pay outstanding bills at the veterinary clinic. This account, which you can see in the attachment, is €1,842.20. The remaining amount is used to pay the PPL campaign commission as well as to buy food to feed them every day. There are more than 100 street cats...
