Campaign to raise funds for the costs of institutionalizing and promoting the MOVEMENT VIVER O AVE

THE VIVER MOVEMENT AVE appeared in April 2021 and arises from the desire of a group of residents in Vale do Ave to change the environmental paradigm in Vale do Ave.

We have been developing a work to promote the Ave River (and its tributaries Vizela and Este) and to raise awareness for the environmental and heritage defense of these rivers and their banks.

Over the past few months, we have been developing a work to raise awareness among the populations, local authorities and political social actors for the need to enhance the Ave Hydrographic Basin.



We were recently awarded third in the Guarda Rios 2021 Award sponsored by Geota.

Our main projects are:

Creation of the Integral do Ave Ecovia (1st Phase - between the source and the mouth of the Ave River)
Creation of the Ecovia Integral do Ave (2nd Phase - between the source and the mouth of the Vizela River)
Creation of the Ecovia Integral do Ave (1st Phase - between the source and the mouth of the River Este)

Promotion and Environmental Valuation of Rio, its banks and water quality

Promotion of the various historical heritages on the banks of the river and its banks

Creation of a Documentary and Historical Archive of Vale do Ave

Education and Environmental Awareness Programs

Carrying out of Sports and Leisure Activities that promote the Ave River and its tributaries
Support / consultancy to local entities on ways to make better use of the river and its resources.



In order to be able to better fulfill our objectives of the movement, we need to institutionalize the MOVEMENT VIVER O AVE as a legally constituted Association, so that we can be a full partner with the official entities.

This campaign aims to obtain funds for the institutionalization of the Movement, as well as for the initial promotion of the Movement and its activities.

WHO ARE WE AND WHAT OUR MISSION?

THE VIVER MOVEMENT AVE is an informal and transversal movement whose mission is to protect, preserve the hydrographic basin of the Ave River and its tributaries, as well as encourage the preservation of the historical heritage built along its banks.

We are committed to the emotional connection of Vale do Ave's naturals and inhabitants with its river, thus contributing to EVERYONE having an active role in the protection and conservation of its waters, its multiple ecosystems, its fauna and flora, its heritage built and cultural.

THE MOVEMENT VIVER A AVE proposes to carry out a wide program of environmental awareness actions, promotion and dissemination, debates and lectures, sports and recreational and educational activities.

Our primary objective is to raise awareness for the protection and preservation not only of the Ave River, but of its entire hydrographic basin.

We hope to be able to count on you to pursue this utopian, ambitious, but achievable mission. We are all few.

To change the environmental paradigm and the development model in the Ave hydrographic basin to a more modern, sustainable and environment-friendly model.
