Learning to Help is a Health Education project that aims to provide children and young people with basic knowledge to act in an emergency situation.
Our mission? Working every day with innovation, playing a key role in transmitting knowledge and attitudes to younger communities, helping them to make decisions that are appropriate to their health, as well as the health of those around them.
The session consists of the presentation of our character “Amarelinha” who represents the Star of Life, explaining to children the entire Integrated Medical Emergency System.
Through children's stories, games and pedagogical dynamics, we teach children the Basic Life Support (BLS) algorithm. We do not fail to train intensely all techniques, from basic life support maneuvers, lateral safety position or unblocking maneuvers!
We do not want to turn children into doctors or nurses, but to awaken in each one the responsibility to help and learn more about first aid. Children and young people leave the room to sing the song… and the algorithm is learned.
We always end the session with the delivery of certificates of presence and tattoos with the photograph of our “Amarelinha”, so that when they get home, they can explain to their parents each phase of the Star of Life.
With this campaign we intend to raise funds to reach more children free of charge. We believe that this is an important topic that should be part of the educational context. And we also believe in achieving a more assertive population that is capable of responding adequately in a situation of accident.
A children's project for children!
