Help the APPDA-Algarve autistic band turn notes into dreams with an inclusive music video! The band PopRock is made up of 5 young people with Autism and the president of the Board.
Have you ever imagined the transformative power of music? We are Autísticos, a band formed by autistic musicians who found in music a form of expression and connection with the world. Each member of our band has a unique story of overcoming and talent, and together we want to share our art with as many people as possible. We want to produce a professional music video for the APPDA-Algarve anthem. This music video will not only be a celebration of our music, but also a way to raise awareness about autism. Through it, we intend to show that autistic people have extraordinary skills and talents that deserve to be recognized and valued.
We are on a mission to show the world the artistic potential and unique sensitivity of these people. And for that, we need your help!

How did APPDA-Algarve come about?
A group of parents of special needs children from the Algarve got together and, on August 25, 2006, APPDA-Algarve was born. These parents considered it essential to establish an Institution that promotes the development, education, social inclusion and participation in the active life of people with developmental disorders and autism, in the District of Faro. Since then, APPDA-Algarve began to create a support structure for people suffering from developmental disorders/autism and other disabilities. Currently, in addition to the headquarters located in Portimão, APPDA-Algarve has centers in Barão de São Miguel and Sagres, which makes it easier to respond to requests from those further away from the municipality of Portimão.
We formed a therapeutic and psychosocial center, where we develop: ▪ Psychosocial care for families; ▪ Clinical and Educational Psychology Consultations; ▪ Music therapy; ▪ Speech Therapy; ▪ Occupational Therapy; ▪ Psychomotricity; ▪ School for adults with neurodiversity (Youth Club): activities to promote and develop skills for social integration and insertion into the job market;
Budget and due dates
The completion of this project will go through several stages, with different costs, including:
- Hiring the company for the production of the music video, editing and post-production (€369)
- Travel to the studio and external locations (€50)
- Costume and scenography (€81)
Due to the type of activity proposed, it is not possible to predict a strict schedule. The company's hiring will take place after the end of the campaign. Next, the recording location will be chosen, as well as the costumes and scenography. Editing and post-production should be completed approximately two/three months after the end of the campaign.
If the campaign does not allow the total amount requested to be raised, the production of the video may take longer, as APPDA-Algarve needs to promote other ways to raise the missing amount.
