Save Angello

Angello has 15 suicide attempts. He takes his medication right but the boarderline personality and major depression seem to have an unshakable resistance and without apparent reason or trigger...the attempts to end his life follow one another.

Angello is a 23-year-old young man who has attempted suicide since he was 11 years old. He is diagnosed with boarderline personality and major depression. On the 12th, he attempted suicide for the fourteenth time with a massive intake of medication and ended up in a coma. He was discharged 3 days later. After 5 days, Angello consummates the fifteenth attempt, this time with extreme violence against himself, as it is always "only" what he intends to hurt, his own body. Angello landed several blows to the neck, hitting part of the jugular vein. He is currently admitted to the Hospital in the psychiatric ward, but in this service there are no psychologists or opportunities for psychotherapy. Angello is a sweet young man, who attends an electronics course at ATEC but who always has a look full of emptiness and sadness. In conversation with Angello or Anjo as his mother treats him, he mentions that he doesn't know why he does these things to himself... he describes an enormous emptiness, a deep sadness... and a desire to die! He feels frustrated that he still hasn't managed to kill himself. When questioned, he feels guilty for the suffering he causes others who love him, but he says that despite wanting to be able to love life, the only goal he has is to commit suicide! Angello needs help...he wants help!!! He always takes his medication and is very responsible for taking it, but even so, when the momentary emptiness he feels grips him...another suicide attempt ensues!

We know that psychiatric and pharmacological follow-up is essential, but Angello needs to undergo psychotherapy. The family loves the Angello! Friends love Angello....but Angello has no self esteem!

This campaign is a loud cry for help in the midst of a last resort to save Angello's life! The SNS has agreements with rehabilitation clinics, however the bureaucracy is a lot and they have already closed that door on us!

We are left with the private...which costs a lot of money...which we don't have! But we have a huge desire to save Angello but for that we need everyone....every cent you can give us!

The clinic that has an immediate vacancy for Angello is located between Aveiro and Coimbra, has double or private rooms, individual psychotherapy, group sessions, activities such as Yoga, tennis, gymnastics and painting, as well as all the permanent monitoring of nursing and psychiatrist .

This is a clinic that can receive Angello and proposes a treatment between 2 and 6 months at a total cost of 2900€/month.

Aiming for 4 months of hospitalization and contemplating the mother's monthly trips to be able to visit him, we are trying to raise the total amount indicated.

We will try to promote it permanently through social networks, appealing to mass participation.

We made a Facebook page "save Angello - fight against suicide".

We will send the crowdfunding link to various companies and entities requesting their contribution so that we can quickly raise the total amount to be immediately paid for the stay at the psychiatric rehabilitation clinic, guaranteeing Angello a place and ensuring that after medical discharge he does not try to finish once what started managed to even consummate suicide.

Budget and due dates

2900€/month for a total of 4 months (11 600€) plus the cost of travel and monthly stay for the mother to visit him and help with medication and supplements if needed.

Angello is currently hospitalized in the psychiatric ward undergoing treatment to stabilize him, however his discharge is being considered so the next two weeks could be decisive.
