For those who don't know me, my name is Amanda, I'm 30 years old, I'm the mother of 3 children who are everything in my life.
I was born in Vitória Espirito Santo, Brazil. I came to Portugal 8 years ago to give my children a better life.
In the morning I work in a private house as a caregiver, in the afternoon I clean the house, to provide support for the family.
3 years ago I was diagnosed with a degenerative disease in both views, BILATERAL KERATOCONUS.
Since then, I have been followed at the hospital, with each consultation the diagnosis worsens, and while waiting on the waiting list for a transplant, in my left eye I can no longer see anything but figures, and the right one, which was what allowed me to work, had a it worsens due to wear and tear on the cornea that has caused small holes.
I had to leave cleaning work due to not being able to complete it as usual.
At the public hospital I'm waiting for the doctor to put me on the waiting list, but the waiting time is on average 2 years.
As I can't wait that long, because I need to work to take care of my children, I tried privately with the help of friends and got an appointment and they can perform my surgery, but this surgery costs between 8 and 9 thousand euros.
That's why I need help from anyone who can help me with any type of donation, so I can have the surgery and go back to work and have a normal life.
